Key innovation system (KIS2)
The Key innovation system (KIS2) is an application aiming to support innovation management. A prerequisite to a properly functioning system is a well-structured process, our so-called key innovation structure, which we would be happy to discuss with you.
KIS2 supports innovatiemanagement because of the following characteristics:
Primary characteristics:
- KIS2 structures innovation management where possible. The agreed upon process that innovations go through is recognisable in the application: the user is facilitated to develop an idea in to a product in several steps, or is helped to determine whether that in itself is actually a good idea. KIS2 uses a stage-gate process.
- KIS2 creates overview and insight: Management gets a grip on the total portfolio of innovations and the way resources in the area of innovation management are deployed.
- KIS2 serves as a discussion platform centered on innovation.
Secundary characteristics:
- Decision making on innovations is integrated with project management of innovation projects. KIS2 has its own project management module, but can also integrate with other existing platforms.
- KIS2 helps to distinguish article changes and innovations. In practice there is a thin line between the two, which is important to determine what resources are to be allocated to article changes or innovation.
- KIS2 serves as an archive. KIS2 helps to structure documentation of innovations and to make documentation more transparent. This makes it easier to prevent reinventing the wheel.

Kis has 4 modules:
- KIS innovation process
- KIS article changes
- KIS project management
- KIS document management
KIS innovation process is the core module of the applocation. KIS document management is a supportive module for all other modules and for the KIS homepage.
